My Personal Learning Networks

  1. I love how you organized your infographic. It is so colorful and easy to read. A person can clearly see the value you have found in building your PLN. I love how you have found resources that are useful to you in your high school science classroom. I think that is what has made this course so beneficial to me. I loved finding networks and educators to follow that will help me in my school year. Great post!

  2. Your infographic looks great! I love how visual it is and how it shows me exactly what you took away from each of the PLNs that you have created. It's amazing how we can connect with educators in similar fields as us, even if they are hundreds of miles away! It looks like you found some great organizations to follow that are useful to you as a high school teacher. That's awesome! Like Lindsay said above, I love how creating a PLN using these tools can be so diverse - as a group of Masters students, we teach such different things, but we were all able to find value in each of the particular PLN tools we studied. There was something for everyone!

  3. Alicia,
The first thing that caught my eye was your slide on Twitter. For one, it was just a really good design idea. It incorporated today's trend of mentioning people in a tweet or post using the @ sign with the people who you can connect with using Twitter. Very cool and very creative! I have really appreciated the fact that Twitter allows me to be in contact with so many different people. I set up my Twitter only for professional use, and I think that really expands the connections we are able to make. I liked your second slide because it showed different communities that you were relevant to you (and me because of science). I like that you illustrated what kind of connections you are making in your own field. Finally, I like that you illustrated that personal learning networks are able to create global connections. This is something that was just not possible as recently as ten or fifteen years ago, so it is a huge asset for us.
